Today, Elk Grove Subaru in partnership with Subaru of America presented the Sacramento SPCA with a check for $9,333.10 at its dealership located at 8581 Laguna Grove Drive. The money was raised during Subaru’s fifth annual “Share the Love” event held late last year.

“Share the Love” is an annual initiative allowing customers who purchase or lease a new Subaru to decide which charities would receive a donation from the company.

The list of charities included the ASPCA, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels, the National Park Foundation, and Teach for America. As part of the program, individual Subaru retailers were allowed to add a sixth charity to the mix. Elk Grove Subaru, of the Lasher Auto Group, chose the Sacramento SPCA.

“We are proud to partner with the Sacramento SPCA because of their dedication to caring for more than 11,000 animals each year,” states Vince Bloom, general manager of Elk Grove Subaru. “The Lasher family has been a long-time supporter of the organization.”

Support of the organization became personal for some staff who adopted pets from the Sacramento SPCA during the event. Similarly, Rick Johnson, CEO of the Sacramento SPCA, purchased a new vehicle from the dealership during the event.

“We are incredibly grateful to Elk Grove Subaru for making us their local charity of choice,” states Johnson. “I purchased from them because of their unique charitable support. Partnerships like these go a long way toward helping us to achieve our mission.”
