Man killed outside south Sacramento party identified | Crime
SACRAMENTO- A teenager is dead and another man was injured in a shooting outside a house party in south Sacramento on Sunday.
Sacramento County sheriff's deputies responded to the 7600 block of Daya Way at 2:45 a.m. following reports of multiple shots fired.
Arriving deputies located an unidentified 39-year-old man who had life-threatening injuries and 19-year-old Dijon Augustine Smith who was found several houses away, lying on the sidewalk. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene, said Sacramento County sheriff's Deputy Jason Ramos.
The 39-year-old victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Ramos said several dozen people were detained, including some attending the party and others outside who were tending to the victims.
Preliminary interviews yielded no information regarding any possible suspect information or motive and the investigation was ongoing, said Ramos.
