Police: Man arrested for punching 2 officers in face

SACRAMENTO, CA - A man was arrested after punching a parking enforcement officer and a police officer in the face Friday afternoon, Sacramento police said.

Brian Debbs, 27, was taken into custody by a K9 in the area of Meadowview Road and Freeport Boulevard after getting a call from a parking enforcement officer around 4:05 p.m., police said.

The officer said he asked Debbs, who was walking in the middle of the street, to move out of traffic; Debbs then punched him in the face through his open car window.

Police said a K9 officer was first to arrive on scene. As the officer got out of the car, Debbs charged her and violently swung his fists and punched her in the face. Police said the K9 was deployed and subdued Debbs.

The officer and the parking enforcement sustained minor injuries. Police said Debbs was believed to be under the influence of drugs during the assault.

2 killed in Sacramento hit and run crash

SACRAMENTO, CA - Two men were killed in a hit and run crash early Friday morning.

The men were in the road on 24th Street, just south of Meadowview Road, around 2:45 a.m. when they were hit by a pick-up truck, Sacramento police said.

When crews arrived, one man was pronounced dead at the scene; the other was taken to the hospital was treatment, but later died of his injuries.

Witnesses told police that the victims were possibly in a fight before the crash. Police believe a late 2000s model white Chevrolet Silverado truck, with a red or orange colored "Z71" emblem on the side of the truck near the rear bed was involved in the crash.

2 killed in south Sacramento hit and run

SOUTH SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Two men were killed in south Sacramento Friday morning after a driver in a pickup truck hit them and sped off, said police.

Sacramento police officers at the scene on 24th Avenue and Kenworthy Way, said a witness saw two men arguing in the middle of 24th Ave. around 2:45 a.m. when a white pickup drove down the street and plowed into both of them.

The truck then sped away northbound on 24th Ave., according to the witness' report.

Emergency response crews were called to the area and pronounced one of the men dead at the scene. The other man was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police are actively investigating the nature of the initial argument between the two men, as well as the hit and run.

The make and model of the truck were not obtained, but police said the vehicle likely has damage to its front end.

South Sacramento urgent care robbed at gunpoint

SACRAMENTO, CA - A south Sacramento urgent care center was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night.

Two masked men burst into Calvine Urgent Care, on the 8300 block of Elk Grove Florin roads, around 8:54 p.m., Sacramento County sheriff's Sgt. Jason Ramos said.

The men jumped over the counter, hit one of the employees over the head with a gun and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The employee suffered minor injuries.

Ramos said six employees were in the center when the men burst in; they were hiding in the back of while the suspects took the money.

The suspects then ran out the back of the business and away from the scene; Ramos said no vehicles were seen.

Ramos said the two men are still on the loose.

Feds break up prostitution ring

SACRAMENTO, CA - FBI agents have broken up a prostitution ring that included brothels from Stockton to Chico and arrested three people for harboring illegal aliens.

A federal criminal complaint dated Jan. 15 highlights a two-and-a-half year investigation that began with a confidential informant describing prostitution at a Stockton residence on North San Joaquin Street.

As part of what began as a human trafficking case, agents later found other brothels in Fairfield, Sacramento, Yuba City and Chico.

Most of the prostitutes were from Mexico, with others from Central America and as far away as Columbia.

Roberto Urbino Gonzalez, Everardo Ibarra Regalado and Corina Dominguez were all charged with one count of conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens and a second count of harboring an illegal alien.

Man sentenced in so. Sacramento carjacking, attempted murder attacks

SACRAMENTO, CA - A man on a bike was sentenced to eight years and eight months in prison for two violent attacks on victims in south Sacramento two years ago.

Jose Camilo was convicted of attempted murder and carjacking in the March 30, 2011 crimes, the Sacramento County District Attorney's office reports.

Camilo was on his bike at Florin and Power Inn roads when he deliberately ran into the side of a car waiting at the intersection, got into the passenger side of the vehicle and beat on the 51-year-old driver, according to court documents. She was forced out of her car and Camilo got behind the wheel.

Man bashes cop car, fire truck with barbell, say police

SACRAMENTO - A 32-year-old man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after he smashed up a cop car and fire truck with a barbell, say police.

Sacramento Police Department reports stated that firefighters sought police assistance during a medical aid call in which Vanthon Som became extremely aggressive towards them and broke the windows of their fire truck with a large barbell.

The first officer arrived at the scene on the 8200 block of Arroyo Vista Dr. around 2:43 p.m. and Som turned his aggression on her, smashing the back window of her patrol car with his barbell, said police.

According to police, backup arrived and eventually managed to subdue Som with beanbag rounds and a stun gun. He was then transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, medically cleared and booked on charges of resisting, assault on an officer, and vandalism.

No officers were injured during the event.
