(Woodland, CA) – The following special programs will be held during the month of July at Yolo County’s Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library, located at 315 E. 14th Street in Davis:

• July 10 & 24: Reducing Stress with Tai Chi, 12:15 p.m. Learn relaxing meditative exercises in this beginner Tai Chi class based on Chinese martial arts. All ages are welcome.

• July 16: Food Olympics, 2:00 p.m. Try our Brazilian-inspired menu to celebrate the Summer Olympics.

• July 16: Origami Club, 2:00 p.m. Join the Davis origami group and learn to fold. Open to all ages and abilities.

• July 28: Davis Library Book Group, 7:00 p.m. Join us for a discussion of Graeme Simsion’s The Rosie Project and distribution of the group’s next book, Robert Crais’ Suspect.

• July 29: I’m in Stitches! Fiber Arts Group, 10:00 a.m. Dedicate time to your fiber arts project with like-minded people. The following special programs for children will be held in July:

• July 2: Lego Block Party, 2:00 p.m. Come and build with Lego blocks!

• July 5: Loteria, 1:00 p.m. Experience family fun playing Bingo in English and Spanish.

• July 9: Family Movie, 2:00 p.m. Watch a family-friendly movie (G or PG) at the library and enjoy free popcorn! For movie title call: (530) 757-5593.

• July 12: Mini Golf, 1:00 p.m. Play mini-golf at the library with fun courses and games.

• July 14: Tuleyome Lecture Series: Conservation Efforts at the Sacramento Zoo, 6:30 p.m. Join Ray Wack as he discusses the Sacramento Zoo’s commitment to conservation by supporting exciting field conservation projects locally and around the world.

• July 19: Banana Slug String Band, 11:00 a.m. Enjoy great music performed by a group of lovable musicians, songwriters and educators who blend music, theater, puppetry and audience participation to create a lively learning environment.

• July 26: Jon Lopez, Magician, 1:00 p.m. Experience this interactive show featuring comedic moments as well as some truly amazing tricks and sleight of hand wonders.

The following ongoing programs continue in July:

• Mother Goose on the Loose: Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

• One Stop Career Center: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m.

• English Conversation Groups: Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. and Fridays at 2:00 p.m.

• Hug-a-Bye Baby: Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. For children ages 2-3.

• Active Older Adult Wisdom Circle: second Thursday at 11:00 a.m.

• Adventuras de Lecturas: Fridays at 10:30 a.m. • Tales for Tails: Fridays at 3:00 p.m.

• Family Fun Time: Saturdays at 11:15 a.m.

• Davis Origami Group: third Saturday at 1:00 p.m. All skill levels welcome.

• Bilingual Chinese/English Story Time: Sundays at 3:00 p.m.

• Yolo County Master Gardeners: third Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

The following programs will be held during the month of July at the temporary location of Yolo County Library’s South Davis branch at Harper Junior High School, situated at 4000 E. Covell Boulevard in Davis:

• Adventuras de Lecturas: Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m.

• Book Club: third Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

NOTICES: There’s still time to sign up for the Summer Reading Program! Sign up to receive a free gift at any of the Yolo County Library branches.

Yolo County Library branches will be closed on July 4 in observation of Independence Day.

On July 20, all Yolo County Library branches will only be open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. due to an All Staff Meeting.
