Aerospace Museum presents "A Day with da Vinci: Renaissance Celebration"

Complete with roaming Renaissance characters and performers dressed in period attire, the Aerospace Museum of California is proud to present a family-friendly “A Day with da Vinci: Renaissance Celebration” on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Plus, as a special treat for moms, all mothers receive FREE admission all weekend long!  Appropriate given the time period in which Leonardo da Vinci lived, guests will have the opportunity to meet Leonardo himself and King Henry VIII, watch periodic sword fighting demonstrations in the airpark, plus enjoy music, dancing, face painting, drumming lessons, Renaissance games, rope making activities, spinning demonstrations, arts and crafts and more. In addition to the special activities, Museum visitors will have the opportunity to experience the Leonardo da Vinci “Machines in Motion” international traveling exhibit and 40 impressive machine replicas on display for a limited time.  All of the hands-on machines are based on da Vinci’s visionary designs and innovative notebook drawings that have been meticulously constructed by a modern team of scientists and craftsmen in collaboration with the Leonardo da Vinci Museum in Florence, Italy. Museum guests have the unique opportunity to set the machines in motion while learning and exploring the wide range of mechanical principles da Vinci employed to create each one.

Grouped together in four sections according to the element which the machine operates or from which it draws power -- Earth, Water, Air and Fire – the exhibit features visionary early inventions such as the helicopter, glider, armored tank, printing press, bicycle, robot and more.
