Celebrate Bike Month In Midtown!
Celebrate Bike Month In Midtown!

In honor of National Bike Month happening in May, the Midtown Business Association (MBA) is pleased to share a number of special bike-friendly announcements and activities happening throughout the area.

“Already known as both walkable and bike-friendly, Midtown is embracing National Bike Month with plenty of special activities this May,” said Emily Baime Michaels, Executive Director of the Midtown Business Association. “We support and applaud the involved and motivated Midtown businesses that are participating in bike riding challenges for employees and/or are offering incentives for residents and guests who choose to ride their bikes to their favorite Midtown destinations.”

New Bike Racks All Locked Up in Midtown
Midtown Sacramento already has plenty of convenient bike racks located throughout the area with more coming soon. In addition to the whimsical and artistic bike racks located in front of various businesses -- such as Zocalo (1801 Capitol Avenue) or Lou’s Sushi (2801 P Street) -- a new bike corral was recently installed in front of Pete’s Restaurant & Brewhouse (2001 J Street) with new bike racks planned in front of Jenneane’s Skin Care (1111 22nd Street) scheduled for next week. The city typically installs new bike racks and/or corrals in front of four to five businesses per month with the majority located in Midtown and/or on the downtown grid.

Ready to Roll…Midtown Bike Shop Grand Opening
With a focus on making bikes accessible and affordable to everyone, a new Midtown bike shop named Velo Trap  (1712 L Street) is getting ready to celebrate an official Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, May 14 timed to coincide with Second Saturday activities. Offering consignment and repurposed bicycles at value prices, Velo Trap will offer an additional 10 percent off all bikes, new and used, as well as tune-ups, parts and accessories on this special day.
Fresh Ideas Going Strong at Midtown Farmers Market
With complimentary valet services provided every Saturday year-round, the popular Midtown Farmers Market is also offering a fun check-in Shop Dine Bike “badge” opportunity this month that culminates on Saturday, May 28.  All month long, Midtown guests are encouraged to ride bicycles to their favorite Midtown restaurants, stores, grocery stores and breweries while getting some exercise along the way.
