The tour costs $10 per person and tickets will be sold online only at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3079477. Note that no tickets will be sold at the gate. The lost graves of New Helvetia

The lost graves of New Helvetia

New Helvetia, a beautiful Sacramento cemetery, possibly related to where Sutter did burials in the 1840s, was turned into a park (and later the site for Sutter Middle School). The “known” remains were unceremoniously removed to the Old City Cemetery, whereas almost 5,000 others were re-interred at East Lawn as “unknowns.” We’ll share their stories, from the famous to the “infamous” and speculate on what happened to their grave markers. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Call (916) 448-0811 for more info.

Come walk through pathways covered in roses while you hear tales of love in years gone-by. Costumed docents and actors will tell about how couples met and how they died, and recount legends about roses, the symbol of love. Bring somebody you love, breathe in the perfume of the roses around you, and enjoy a lovely evening in our award-winning Historic Rose Garden in the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery.
